Hardscape Installation Engineered To Last Decades, Not Seasons.
Proper excavation, compacted base in lifts, premium pavers, and craftsmanship you can stand on. We build hardscapes the right way — not the fast way.
Custom Hardscape Construction Built To ICPI Standards
Hardscapes are where shortcuts show up worst. A patio installed on the wrong base will heave, settle, dip, and pop joints within a few freeze-thaw cycles — and there's no cosmetic fix once that starts. We design and install hardscape projects in Wentzville and across St. Charles County to ICPI (Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute) standards: proper excavation depth, geotextile fabric to separate base from sub-grade, aggregate base compacted in lifts, premium pavers or wall block, polymeric sand for joint lock, and edge restraint that actually holds. The build takes longer than a one-day install — and it's still standing flat ten years later.
- Site evaluation, grade planning, and drainage assessment
- Layout staking with on-site design approval
- Excavation to required depth for your specific build
- Geotextile fabric between sub-grade and aggregate
- Compacted aggregate base installed in proper lifts
- Premium pavers, wall block, or natural stone of your choice
- Polymeric sand joints and edge restraint
- Final wash-down, sealing on request, and walk-through
Why Hardscape Construction Quality Is Everything
A hardscape is one of the biggest landscape investments a homeowner makes — and the difference between a 'cheap patio' quote and a properly engineered hardscape isn't the pavers, it's everything underneath. Sub-grade prep, geotextile, base depth, lift compaction, drainage, and edge restraint are 80% of why hardscapes last. They're also invisible by the time the job is done, which is exactly why corner-cutters skip them. The patio looks great for one summer, then dips at the corner, joints pop, weeds invade — and there's no way to fix it without tearing it out.
Hardscapes also have to manage water. A flat patio against a foundation is a slow-motion basement problem. Proper pitch, drainage stone, and (where needed) a French drain or surface channel keep water moving away from the house and prevent freeze-thaw damage. We plan drainage on every hardscape we build — not as an add-on, but as part of the original engineering.
Hardscapes That Look New A Decade In.
Engineered Base, Always
We don't shortcut prep. Proper depth, geotextile, and lift compaction are why hardscapes last.
ICPI-Standard Builds
Built to the same specifications used on commercial pavers — not 'pretty close.'
Drainage Designed In
Every hardscape includes pitch, base drainage, and runoff planning — not bolted on later.

Design & Material Selection
We map the project on-site, finalize layout, pick pavers and accents, and lock pricing in writing before any work starts.
Excavation & Sub-Grade Prep
Existing material removed, sub-grade graded for drainage, geotextile fabric installed to prevent base migration.
Base Build & Paver Set
Aggregate compacted in lifts, screeded flat, then pavers or wall block laid and cut to pattern with edge restraint.
Polymeric Sand & Finish
Joints filled with polymeric sand, locked in, and the entire build washed down and walked through with you.
Why Choose Mow Bros As Your Hardscape Contractor
We're a small, owner-led crew that takes one hardscape project at a time. That means the owner is on-site, decisions get made fast, and the install standard doesn't drop because someone is rushing to the next job. We build to ICPI specs, source pavers from Belgard, Pavestone, Unilock, and other regional manufacturers, and we'll walk you through every material choice so you understand what you're paying for.
Scope ranges from a simple sitting area to a full outdoor living build with fire pit, seat walls, integrated lighting, and a covered structure. Tell us what you're picturing and we'll help you scope it realistically — start with the quote form or our contact page.
